March 23, 2013. After a relaxing sleep and a rich breakfast in Buan Ma Thout, Easy Rider Quang and me went on with the motorcycle. “Today it is going to be easy, less kilometres to drive than yesterday”, Quang promised me.

Easy Rider Vietnam Tour – Day 2: Buon Ma Thout – Lak Lake

Vietnam-Buon-Ma-Thuot-3Sitting on the back of a motorcycle through the crazy traffic in Vietnam is an outstanding experience. In the morning the air is cool and fresh, perfect to wakeup. Next stop: Coffee break

Trung Nguyên Coffee Museum

Trung Nguyên is the largest domestic coffee brand within Vietnam and they export it to over 60 countries all over the world.

The two exquisite coffee sorts Robusta and Arabica grow very well in this area.

Dray Sap Waterfall

About 20 km southwest of Buon Ma Thuot, the stunning Dray Sap and Dray Nur waterfalls were the next stop. Around noon the temperature was getting very hot and I was glad to walk near the river under the trees. The Vietnamese love to have picnic on the rocks near the river, there was even a wedding couple for their pictures.

On The Way To Lak Lake

Cocoa, Cashew Nut and Avocado-Trees grow along the streets.

Floating villages and endless rice fields.

River crossing, Tapioca farmers

From time to time it is a pleasure for body and soul to walk a while.

View from Lak Resort

The Lak Resort is located 50 km South of Buon Ma Thout and about 150 km North- East of Da Lat. Close to Lak Lake there is a village called Jun Village where the M’Nong live, an ethnic minority which are organized in a matriarchal system. This means that the women decide important things in life like building a house or choose the man to marry .

More about this culture in the part 3 of  Easy Rider Vietnam Tour Experience (coming soon).
